With all the recent emphasis on removing trans-fats, I guess In and Out Burger has now decided to go with the flow and their fries now taste like cardboard. Boo. The once a month I gorge on a burger meal I want greasy tasty french fries. Gosh, maybe next they'll take away our ketchup and force mayo on us! :)
Yes/no?? Agree?
Remember, it takes 2 hands to handle a whopper!!:rolleyes:
I only know a couple of the secret menu items. My wife and I are doing the South Beach Diet, so we each got a cheeseburger the other day "protein style" which means it comes wrapped up in lettuce rather than on a bun.
Let's hear what your favorite "off menu" items are at In & Out!

Nooo!!! I loved the fries at In-N-Out. Please don't tell me they're going to change the milk shakes now too, if they do that, it's all over.
I don't know all of the secret menu items, but I do know about fries animal style. I used to drive coworkers over there for lunch at my old job and everyone got them. They take the fries and cover them in what appears to be some sort of melted cheese, relish and basically any other fixin there is. About every, oh, 8th time i go to In-N-Out someone I know gets them and after eyeing them suspicially out of the corner of my eye for 10 minutes or so I'll gingerly pick one out. Still can't decide if I like them though. The idea of fake cheese scares me.

Funny, I've always thought In-n-Out's fries were terrible! I wonder if removing transfat will actually make them better?! For me, it's all about the burger. I like my cheese burger "animal style," which means the bun is lightly grilled and the burger is topped with grilled onions and a little pink gooey-ness (Thousand Island dressing, maybe?).
In lieu of fries, my husband and I usually split a milkshake. This isn't exactly secret, but they'll blend flavors for your shake, if you ask. The chocolate-strawberry combo is superb!

Really? They'll mix the flavors for you? Oh my goodness. You just did something potentially hazardous for my health my telling me that :p thank you!

This is the first i've heard of a change with the In/Out fries.. this is something that should be reported by E!.. it's a big story. Anyhow, can someone tell me how they taste different today than before.. it always thought they were kind of flimsy and not crispy enough.

Friends of the Lard God--->
Yes, it's true...my last fries at In/Out tasted like the FED EX box I got 2 weeks ago. But don't take my word - try them and let us know if it's just me...I USED to think their fries were awesome...real potatoes and all that....but nay, no longer.
For a real Burger, try Red Robin...true, the signature burger is about 8,000 calories (or more) but they give you ENDLESS fries. And when on the highway I really don't like to wait for the In/Out food. Then it's "fuel for the furnace" and back on the road. BTW, I am enroute home from Seattle now and I hit a Burger King with FREE wireless inside! McD is charging $2.50. :eek: Gosh.

I had the sad experience of tasting the new "healthy" in n out fries this weekend. They tasted like... seasoned styrofoam. I'm sad now, the places for greasy fries and onion rings are dwindling. Now I need another good place for a fix. I know that Marin Brewing Co is pretty good for onion rings.. anywhere else we fast food lovers should go?
...cuz I didn't find them to be half bad! :)
