Trout Day 2007: September 2 at Lake Merced in San Francisco
This year’s Trout Day is limited to 150 pre-registered kids.
This is a great opportunity to introduce kids to fishing at no cost. All equipment and lessons aree provided by Cal Trout. The lake will be heavily stocked with trout, and a special section for just kids will almost guarantee success.
Registration is now open for our fourth annual Trout Day at San Francisco's Lake Merced to be held on Sunday, September 2nd. Trout Day is a celebration of the rebirth of one of the nation's finest urban fishing destinations and an introduction to fishing for children and youth ages 6 to 15. Because space is limited, we are only able to serve the first 150 youths registered. If you haven't yet, please PRE-REGISTER now. Send your name, the names and ages of any participating kids, and a contact phone number to: tvanhouten@caltrout.org. You will receive a confirmation email for admission to this clinic. This list will fill up quick, so REGISTER now.
Trout Day festivities include a kids-only fishing site, fishing clinic with poles and equipment provided, and snacks. Prior to the event, a designated area of Lake Merced will be stocked for the clinic with rainbow trout provide by CalTrout and the California Department of Fish and Game.
The American Fisheries Society, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and South Bay Fishing in the City are co-sponsoring the event with California Trout.
Lake Merced is located in the southwest corner of San Francisco near Skyline and Lake Merced Boulevards. Events kick off at 8 a.m. on the North Lake. Check our website <https://admin5.getactive.com/pvtd/msg/http/www.caltrout.org> for more information.
Please, note: The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge will be closed over Labor Day Weekend.
