Snacks are very much part of the Indian Food (http://www.rasarestaurants.com/) which is often ignored by many food critics. Indian Food (http://www.rasarestaurants.com/) has a variety of snacks to boast of , some of them are mentioned herein.

Chaat refers to small plates of savory snacks. Chaat originated in Gujarath and now commonly found all over india specially in the road side restaurants.
They even make you wonder if the fast food existed in India much before its official discovery. Most chaat are based on fried dough, with various other ingredients. Popular types include bhel puri, dahi puri, panipuri, dahi vada, papdi chaat, and sev puri. All the chats are served with an extra helping of onions and coriander leaves.
Pakora is an indian snack which can be made of any vegetable or cooked meat which is easily available in the kitchen such as chicken, onion, eggplant, lentils, potato, spinach, cauliflower, tomato, and chilli, dipping them in a batter of gram flour and then deep-frying them. They are usually served as snacks or appetizers. They are also known as bhaji in south India.
Bonda is a typical South Indian snack. The process of making spicy bonda involves deep frying Potato (or other vegetables) filling dipped in gram flour batter.It is also called 'batata vada'. It’s a golden brown colour ans is served with a dip - coconut chutney (sauce)
Vadai pronounced 'vah-daa' or 'vah-die', is a savoury South Indian snack shaped like a doughnut and made from lentil. Lentils are seasoned — sometimes sauteed — then shaped, covered in a gram flour batter and deep-fried. It is normally served with a cocnut chutney dip or in a bowl of curds , sambar , rasam.
