Hi All,

SF must have more great restaurants per square mile than any other U.S. city. If you had to narrow your favorites down to 5, what would they be? You need not list the fanciest or most expensive - just places you really enjoy.

Cheers,
Mike

I don't get into San Francisco to eat very often anymore, but used to work right in the heart of the Financial District many years ago.

Favorites restaurants of mine in no particular order have always been:

1. Boulevard (http://www.boulevardrestaurant.com/main.html) at One Mission St.

2. One Market (http://www.onemarket.com/) at (what else) One Market St.

3. Maxfield's (http://www.maxfields-restaurant.com/) at 2 New Montgomery St.

4. Brandy Ho's (http://www.brandyhos.com/) at 217 Columbas Ave.

5. Rue Le Pic (http://www.bestofsanfrancisco.net/ruelepic.htm) at 900 Pine Street.

I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to recommend.

Hi Jim,

My wife and I also don't get into the City as often as we used to. I am a big fan of Boulevard and One Market. I once dined with a group at the Chef's Table in the kitchen at One Market. It was quite an evening. All of the dishes were special off the menu preparations. The chef explained each dish, and we were able to watch everything being prepared. That's one of my most memorable meals anywhere.

Cheers,
Mike
