Doug is indeed in Astoria, Oregon. I've heard its a beautiful little town, but I have not yet visited. I hope to get there one day.

Hi Mike,
I haven't been there yet either...on my list of places I want to visit. Did you know Astoria is where they filmed Kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger? I think I became intrigued with the town after seeing that. They have actually filmed about 20 movies there including Free Willy and The Guardian with Kevin Costner. A little trivia for a Monday morning!

Hi Judy,

I did know that Kindergarten Cop was shot in Astoria, and I too got an urge to visit after seeing the movie. I have not seen the movie for many years, but I recall that the movie created an idyllic feeling about that town. Someday I will see if it can live up to the image. It's a tall order!
