Everybody loves a really great coffee house. A place like "Cheers" where you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. Cozy, comfortable, room to spread out and read the newspaper or get a little laptop time in.

I'm sure that many of you have a place you like to go for a great "cup o' Joe". Let's hear about them!!!

One of my new favorites is Northpoint Coffee in Sausalito, which happens to be right across the street from OpenRoad.TV's World Headquarters.

Northpoint Coffee (http://www.northpointcoffee.com/) is located at 1250 Bridgeway in Sausalito, California. It sits right on beautiful Richardson's Bay.

In addition to really great coffee, lattes, cappuchinos, etc., Northpoint offers smoothies and other drinks, and a limited breakfast / lunch menu of pastries, cereals, sandwiches, salads, quiche, and even kids menu choices of PB&J, grilled cheese, and hot dogs.

What I love best about Northpoint Coffee is that it has a really great coffee house atmosphere, with many regulars just hanging out, as well as many traveler's stopping in for a caffeine fix.

Artwork from local artists hangs on the walls, and changes every couple of months or so. Then there is the beautifully landscaped outdoor seating area that is right on Richardson's Bay, and offers fantastic views of Mount Tamalpais, Belvedere Island, and hundreds and hundreds of sailboats on the surrounding docks.

If you find yourself in Sausalito, definitely pay a visit to Northpoint Coffee.

I have to thank you for turning me on to Northpoint Jim! :) I took my girlfriend there a few weeks ago and she really enjoyed sitting out back alongside the water. The coffee wasn't too shabby either! ;)

For me...just call me a Peetnik! It's my staple coffee...not only because I love it and have been drinking it for years...but because it's darned good coffee to boot.

I did get a great tip from a friend for a coffee house in Santa Clara that has received some very high accolades http://www.barefootcoffeeroasters.com I am dying to give this place a try as I hear they take their coffee VERY seriously. :)

I think I need an afternoon cup now!

The Northpoint Coffee Co. was adorable.

In that genre, East Bay folks should check out Cherubini Coffee House in Alamo. Its decorated as a 19th century apothecary, and there's a nice antiques shop next door. Great patio, and charming idoors, top notch coffee drinks, good locals vibe.

I completely agree on Jim's post about Northpoint, and in fact, I do miss their coffee and friendly service. The hot chocolate is out of this world and the atmosphere is great.

That's probably why I like Java Jones so much. There's a location right next to my college campus, but also one in downtown Santa Barbara. New music is always playing on the radio, people are always gathering there as a destination. There are huge, soft couches, arm chairs and tables that make you feel like you're completely at home, which makes it a great place to study.

To top it off, the store itself tries to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and offers a variety of Fair Trade coffees and teas, and some really yummy concoctions that beat Starbucks on the creativity front. Actually, I just looked them up and they are 100% Fair Trade Organic certified, which makes me all the merrier. I love the Vanilla Spice Chai Late, and they've got great sweet drinks and cold drinks, but if you're just up for a plain ol' cup of coffee, they've got that too. Local events are posted everywhere and it's just got a great feel.

Check out the website. You can actually buy stuff on there and it will tell you the locations. http://www.javajonescoffeehouse.com/
