I know this is late notice but this Saturday Angel Island is celebrating Earth Day. I thought I would head out on the noon ferry from Tiburon and check it out. Also, Angel Island will be celebrating Civil War Days on June 9th and 10th. It's a great place to hike, bike or Segway through the history and landmarks of this wonderful State Park. Any guess as to the name of the Superintendent? It's the same name as a famous rock and roller...

Sorry I couldn't join you on Angel Island Saturday. How did the day go? And what other events are coming up on the island?

Angel Island Earth Day was terrific. There were 85 volunteers that came out to work on the island Saturday. Lunch was provided and afterwards, there was a raffle with some fun prizes awarded. There were a number of other venues on Saturday for people to volunteer on Earth Day. I would love to hear about others.
