Half Moon Bay is a popular stopping point and destination for bikers traveling between Santa Cruz and San Francisco on Highway 1, and on San Mateo Road that hooks to our famous motorcycling hot spot Skyline Boulevard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_State_Route_35) and Alice's Restaurant (http://www.yelp.com/biz/Q4tOrahHwvFOgChzBsm5yw). (But that's a topic for another thread!) With 4 miles of beaches and a laid-back downtown, music, and events, it is definitely worth a stopover. Check the town calendar (http://www.coastsidelive.com/calendar/) for what's coming up. Of particular interest to bikers are the Pacific Coast Dream Machines (http://www.miramarevents.com/dreammachines/index.html) event in late April, and the Legend of the Motorcycle Concors d'Elegance (http://lotm.com) in early May. Accommodations run the gamut: camp at Francis Beach or stay at the Ritz. Any recommendations for are appreciated.
