If there's anything better than good food, it's sharing good food with friends, old and new! And that's what this forum is all about -- sharing. As the food forum's co-host, I look forward to learning about your favorite places to eat, from fancy restaurants to taco trucks. This is the place to rave about your favorite farmers' market, oyster bar or cheese shop -- or to solicit recommendations for the best bowl of poi on Maui or beloved brunch spots in Berkeley.

Life is a buffet -- let's dig in!

Cheers,
Laura

So you can handle the southern part of the state and I'll do the Northern. Let's meet for wine in the middle one day soon-O.K?
Hmmm- Food and Parks---good thinking..you can eat all night and then walk it off exploring the parks:) :)

Oh, I've got a lot to learn about the southern half of California, but I look forward to doing it! So far, I'm finding people here aren't quite as passionate about their food and wine as folks in San Francisco. But I suppose people in San Francisco are more passionate about their food and wine than people in most other places!

There is one thing I find really curious here: no one seems to talk about sustainable fishing. For instance, I rarely find wild salmon (or other fish) in stores or restaurants -- and when I ask "farmed or wild?" in restaurants, the waiter usually thinks that's a very odd question and doesn't know the answer. I guess five years in San Francisco made me think everyone thinks/cares about those issues!
