Big group hug to all my fellow foodies. I'm the co-moderator for OpenRoad.TV's Food Forum...a position I feel uniquely (oh shoot--where's the spell-check on this thing???)qualified for since I've often been accused of being the Love child of Indiana Jones and Julia Child.

I was a specialty food consultant for 12 years in New York, and ate my way through the very best the Big Apple had to offer. After being bitten by the travel bug, my culinary adventures have taken me to over 65 countries, where I have shared a smoked monkey dinner with a generous Shuar Indian family deep in the Amazon Jungle; helped Ethiopian tribal woman bake injera bread on hot stones in 108 degree heat; and crashed a wedding feast in Pakistan, where I was wined and dined by over 200 men and no women.
Last year, I mistakenly bought camouflage clothes to participate in a week-long truffle hunting safari in Marche, Italy, never tiring of the decadently delicious fungi feasts.

Yet, as a far as good eating, the Bay Area is just about perfect. About the only thing you can't get here is a good, Hot Pastrami Sandwich. I'm looking forward to some exciting food fights with you all about who makes the best _______ (fill in the blank,) but all in good fun.

My first question for you is "Where do you go if you want to pick up a good Bahn Mi (A Vietnamese sandwich which is totally addictive, and dirt cheap) to take on the plane when leaving from SFO?

P.s. Better get this out in the open at the very beginning to honor my vow of "Full Disclosure"--I am about tech savvy as a dill pickle, so please forgive any typos, wierd grammar, and misspells!
