HAWAII MANTA RAY NIGHT DIVE: WATCH THE VIDEO!

The big island of Hawaii is one of my favorite places to experience nature's wonders. From its massive volcanic mountains to its soft sand beaches and its crystal clear warm waters filled with wildlife of all shapes sizes and colors. The big island is a special playground for those seeking adventure by land and by sea.

Keller LAROS and his crew at Jack's Diving Locker continue their night dives in the company of manta rays. Keller's also the founder and a board member of the Manta Pacific Research Foundation . Here's what Keller has to say about that: "We are working hard to have manta rays protected from fishing and collection. Manta rays are threatened in most of the western Pacific and we fear that people may decide to come and kill them in Hawaii. We now have over 107 manta rays identified in Kona and are beginning to have people in Oahu and Maui photograph and identify manta rays, which they share with our data base." Jack's Diving Locker has added another shop and two new boats in Kona. Jack's junior programs serve kids from eight to seventeen and are very popular. I urge anyone with a love of the sea and a sense of adventure to consider learning how to dive. You'll discover a quiet world more beautiful, fascinating, and delicate than you can ever imagine, and you'll likely become a devoted advocate for protecting our final frontier.
